Introduction:
For successful fermentation, it is important
to have stringent monitoring conditions
such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH
and foam. Our knowledge brings you bioreactors,
fermentor and cell culture system to offer
microbiologists tailor made solutions for
the best possible growth and biosynthesis.
The fermentors / bioreactors are designed
and fabricated keeping both usage and operational
convenience in mind. Made of glass or stainless
steel, of different capacities (suitable
for tabletop and floor mounting) the system
can be offered with, or without computer
control. The systems offered are modular
and can be easily upgraded with additional
accessories for animal cell and plant cell
culture and also other special fermentation
application.

Product
Description
Vessels
The fermentor vessels are made of stainless
steel or glass depending on the suitability
and convenience of operation. The size of
the SS vessels varies as per requirement.
The vessels are designed for convenience in
operation as per the standard requirements
of suitable dimensions with the H/D ratio
of 2: 1 (approximately), which can be changed
to suit specific needs and space requirement.Glass
vessels
Glass vessels are available for sizes that
are convenient in the laboratories, since
transparency of glass facilities ease in visualizing
the reactions/process.The top plates
The top plates and vessels
come with an internal electroplate, which
is better than 240grit. All internal arrangements
like impellers/impeller shaft/baffles have
the similar electro polish finish.
|
|
|
External jacket
with cladding insulation is provided for
water circulation. Jackets are of SS 304
with a polish bright finish.
Agitation
Agitation is provided using the top motor
drive with mechanical or with a special
optional bottom motor drive, which is a
direct drive to the impeller shaft. The
magnetic drives are optionally available.
Electronic speed controllers are microprocessor-based
systems with digital display and speed range
from 10rmp to 1000rmp |
 |
The speed range would vary depending on the
fermentor application/process as well as on
the vessel/impeller dimension. The six-blade
turbine type impeller is provided as standard
with an option to provide for customized impellers |
 |
Aeration through Spurger is provided for aerobic
fermentation from the external air supply
with flow control, microbial filters and flow
meters. |
|
Flexible Stirrer System has
-
Slow stirrer speed using a reduction gearbox
for maximum stability at low rpm
- Robust
stainless steel framework
-
Small footprint
- Stainless
steel drip tray pulls out for easy cleaning
and improved vessel handling
-
Easy to clean and maintain.
Each module is totally independent,
using its own power supply, pumps etc.
Although individual, the modules can
stack together to create an equipment
familiarization time may be limited.
Because the modules are totally independent,
they can also easily be used to up-grade
older equipment.

Temperature Controller permanently displays
temperature on an LED display and, at the
touch of a bottom displays the set point.
The temperature controller uses low voltage
heaters available in a wide range of sizes
and shapes to suit individual vessels. Sensors
are individually calibrated for accurate
temperature measurement.
pH Controller after temperature, pH is the
most relevant parameter to measure and control.
The 260 features high impedance integrated
amplifier to ensure accurate measurement
of pH and to enable a wide range of pH electrodes
to be used. The pH controller uses the industry
standard peristaltic pumps.
Oxygen
Meter (DO controller) is able to measure
dissolved air/oxygen in solution (DO). It
has two built-in pre-amplifiers to enable
it to cope with either the low-cost glass
galvanic electrode or the more expensive
stainless steel polarographic electrode.
The
Stirrer is constructed using a durable stainless
steel framework and the powerful top drive
motor is of the highest specification to
give maximum performance. The vessels are
of tough borosilicate glasses, which are
designed for sterilization in an autoclave.
The stirrer is fitted with a reduction gearbox,
which provides constant low speeds and also
protects the motor against wear and tear.

 |
|
The whole assembly provides easy access
for removal of vessel, inner parts and drip
tray, whilst providing a useful stainless
steel back plate for mounting additional
items such as air control valves and water
pipe work.
The
Controller is simple to use, powerful and
effective. It uses a clear fluorescent display,
showing all key parameters on one screen
at the same time. A single keystroke takes
you into specific calibration screens for
each parameter, keeping the display uncluttered
and intuitive.
Built-in
pumps and optional pump module efficiently
tackle both batch and continuous flow fermentation
Glassware
is profiled with a rounded bottom to minimize
cell shearing and a low-density heater provides
essential uniform heating.
Low
shear, variable pitched impellers can be
designed to your own specification in order
to achieve maximum cell growth. Combine
these features with DO and pH control and
the Cell Culture System will tackle any
cell line.
Comprehensive
Measurement & Control System has
- Microprocessor

Mammalian
Cell Culture
New
milestone has been reached in biotechnology
that brings complete design flexibility
and simplicity to the production of mammalian
cells and their byproducts. It is now possible
to use a variety of cell culture methodologies
for the successful growth of virtually all
eukaryotic cell lines.
We
offer an universal system has been designed
for the growth of anchorage-dependent and
suspension cultures. For secreted products
a fibrous-bed of polyester disks may be
employed as a matrix for high-density growth
of cells immobilized on the disks. This
support is ideal for production of secreted
proteins regardless of cell type. Whether
growing insect cells, hybridomas or recombinant
anchorage-dependent cells, the fibrous-bed
concept can maximize productivity. For some
suspension cell lines, marine and pitched
blade impellers may be preferred to minimize
shear forces and enhance O2 transfer
rate ( eg. double screen-impeller increases
O2 transfer by 20%).
System
Features:
-
Interactive 4-gas control with sequential
addition of air, O2, N2
and CO2 for precise pH and
D.O. control.
-
Internal ring sparger and air/gas overlay
facilities.
-
Five programmable pumps with assignable
functions for feed/harvest, level/antifoam,
acid and base addition.
- Computer
interface for data logging and computer
control.
-
Drive motor easily uncoupled for removal
of vessel.
-
4-channel recorder output for pH, D.O.,
temperature and stirring speed.
-
Eliminates need for micro carriers with
anchorage-dependent cells.
-
Entrapped cells avoid shear from impellers,
gas bubbles and pumps.
-
Cell entrapment allows higher mixing speeds,
increasing mass transfer of nutrients
and oxygen.
-
Capable of continuous measurement of oxygen
uptake rate for real-time cell mass determination.
-
Secreted products automatically separated
from cells in perfusion, eliminating filtration
and membrane fouling. Simplified scale-up
from 1.4 liters to custom-designed production
systems.
